Fall is trying hard. But 70 degree days in the middle of October make it difficult. It won't be long before the trees shed their green and yellow leaves. While leaf peepers will be disappointed, their loss is insignificant - pithy even. Hurricanes, floods, and wildfires around the globe tell a deeper story of destruction, neglect, death, and change.
While walking around the park I looked for lines, shapes, and light to tell a different story of a city in transition. Shifting to monochrome helped deepen the mood, focus on composition, while setting aside a color palette that betrayed its season.
